Estuaries Across the Region

The environmental health of the Wet Tropics estuaries is assessed on water quality, habitat and hydrology, and fish.

The eight estuaries included in the Wet Tropics Report Card region are Daintree, Dickson Inlet, Barron, Trinity Inlet, Russell-Mulgrave, Johnstone, Moresby and Hinchinbrook Channel.

For 2024-25 the Daintree, Dickson Inlet, Russell-Mulgrave, Johnstone and Hinchinbrook Channel estuaries remained ‘good’, the Barron estuary and Trinity Inlet remained ‘moderate’, whilst the Moresby estuary improved from ‘moderate’ to ‘good’ since the previous year.
