Tablelands Regional Council is a Reef Guardian Council

The Atherton Tablelands is a popular outdoor destination with mountains, wide open spaces and safe swimming all year round. It is also fertile agricultural land which puts pressure on the upper catchments of the Barron, Mulgrave, Russell, Johnstone and Herbert rivers.

As a Reef Guardian Council, TRC has developed a Reef Guardian Action Plan which outlines the stewardship actions the Council is committed to undertaking to improve water quality to the reef. For more information: https://www.trc.qld.gov.au/our-environment/reef-guardians/
