The Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils represents 12 Councils in far north Queensland and was set up to foster resource sharing and cooperation across Council boundaries.

Sharing resources and fostering cooperation between Councils

FNQROC was established in 1992 and represents 12 member Councils from Hinchinbrook in the south to Cooktown in the north. Covering an area of 1,235 km along the eastern seaboard of north east Australia and a land area of 252,542 sq km, it covers a population of approximately 280,330.

The organisation was set up to advocate for regional positions and priorities of and to foster cooperation and sharing of resources betweent the Councils. They have a small team that works closely with regional partners and stakeholders.
