The voice of the marine tourism industry

AMPTO works closely with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority to continually monitor and improve management of the reef. Marine tourism is a minimal impact industry committed to sustainable practices to ensure the future of the reef.

AMPTO is a founder member of the Cooperative Research Centre for the Reef providing support for scientific research on the reef, and developing best, sustainable, practices for industry members. They were also instrumental in the formation of the GBR Research Foundation – a private non-profit organisation which directs benefactors’ funds toward reef research.
